Design Strategy Currently,
the eastern edge of Corby represents a stark boundary between town
and country. The Priors Hall development is designed to create a gentle
transition from built up Corby to its rural surroundings. To the west, and closest to Corby, will be the most formal streets with terraces and boulevards. A district centre will be located here providing a range of local shops, services and facilities for the new community To the east, densities and building heights are lower and the building type will be much more varied, drawing design inspiration from the villages of East Northamptonshire At the north end of the site, bordering the grounds of Kirby Hall, the densities and building heights are lower still. Here, buildings will be of individual design with large private gardens.
