The Site

New Parkland

At the heart of the new development is extensive parkland and open grassland, covering over 200 hectares of the site, the equivalent of 230 full size football pitches.

The Gully – informal open space of grassland running down the spine of the new community

Willow Brook North – provides an important parkland corridor through the site from Deene Park to Corby with the potential for footpaths, cycleways and bridleways

The Northern Edge - Woodland will be planted along the northern boundary to screen the development from Kirby Hall and ensure Kirby Hall maintains its rural ambience.

The Southern Boundary - New areas of woodland are also proposed along the southern boundary to create a green wedge between the new development and Weldon.

Northern Field – The large open field that is enclosed by mature woodland that currently screens the site from the village of Deene will be enhanced.

Formal playing areas - such football pitches and cricket greens

The parkland will include new and retained woodland, providing enhanced habitats for wildlife. Wherever possible, existing hedgerows will be preserved and new trees and hedgerows will be planted both within and around the parkland. Features such as cattle grids will be placed at the entrances to reinforce the feeling of a rural park.
