The Site

The 385-hectare Priors Hall site is located to the east of Rockingham Speedway, north of the A43 at Weldon. To the north and east of the site lie the grounds of Kirby Hall and Deene Park respectively.

From the 1940’s, large parts of the site were quarried for ironstone for use in the former Steelworks. In 1982, following the closure of the steelworks, planning permission was granted for the WonderWorld Themepark, but it was never built. Ever since, the site has been disused and is now identified for development in Catalyst Corby’s Regeneration Framework.
